What is changing?

Starting January 1st, Rainforest Alliance will change all bank accounts from Bank of America to Citibank. This is valid for all crop royalties and pending invoices. You will see the new bank account information at the bottom of new invoices sent in 2025.

The old bank accounts will be closed on January 15th and any payments made to our old Bank of America accounts after that date will be denied and bounce back to your own account. If payment fails to reach our new bank account, we won't be able to confirm your payment, and the royalty invoice will remain open. Late fees may apply.

Please note that all invoices sent before January 2025 will contain the old banking details.

What is the new bank the Rainforest Alliance is using? 

Citibank.

When is the change happening?

The new bank accounts at CitiBank will open on January 1st, 2025.

All old Rainforest Alliance bank accounts at Bank of America will be closed on January 15th, and any payments made to our Bank of America accounts after that date will be denied and bounce back to your own account.

When can I start making payments to the new bank accounts?

From January 1st, 2025.

What should I do if my payment is denied? 

The payment will have to be made again to the new bank account.

Are there costs involved if my payment is denied by the old back account?

Costs may be involved depending on your bank's policies. Some financial institutions impose fees for returned transactions. Please check this directly with your bank institution.

If I have a previous invoice that mentions the previous bank account information, can I make a payment for it to the new bank accounts?

Yes, the payment can be made to the new bank account starting January 1st, 2025.

How do the new invoices look?

Invoices will look the same. The only change is in the banking information.
