Implementing Version 1.4 - What You Need to Know Now

Prev Next

On March 3rd, 2025, we published Version 1.4 of our Sustainable Agriculture Standard on the Knowledge Hub.

This streamlined version of our standard is binding from October 1st, 2025, bringing considerable improvements for both our Farm and Supply Chain Certificate Holders.

To support your transition to our Sustainable Agriculture Standard V1.4, on November 3rd, 2025, we launched a new Rainforest Alliance Certification Platform (RACP) and a new portal called MyRA. Read here more about our new platforms.

Not all our Certificate Holders (both Farms and Supply Chain Actors) should use the new platforms as of today. It depends on your current license status as explained below in our transition timelines below

When must I start using Version 1.4 of the Sustainable Agriculture Standard and the New RACP?

You don’t need to schedule a new audit or recertify just because we’re updating our standard and changing our certification platform. When it’s time for your next audit, we’ll guide you through the transition to Version 1.4 of our Sustainable Agriculture Standard and the new RACP. The timing of your transition to the new standard and platform will depend on your audit schedule.

Please note you shouldn’t start the renewal process more than six months prior to the expiration of your license.

Farm and Supply Chain Certificate Holders with audits that started from October 1, 2025, through January 31st, 2026

What to do:

  • You must prepare against Version 1.4 of the Sustainable Agriculture Standard, and you will be audited against this Version.

  • For Farm and Supply Chain Certificate Holders in this scenario, there are two possible situations:

Certificate Holders migrated to MyRA and the new RACP

Certificate Holders with a valid licence (including licences with a future start date—Active or Granted & Pending Activation), as well as those with expired licences, and not in In Preparation status as of 10 October 2025 in the old RACP system, have been migrated to MyRA and the new RACP.

    • Starting November 2025, all new processes must be conducted using the new platforms when renewal is required. These certificate holders can log into MyRA using their existing credentials.

    • Your credentials will be migrated to the new platform automatically. Please do not create a new account if you already had one in the old RACP, as this may result in duplicate accounts. You should also not create a new organization within your account.

    • Apply the Policy on Phased Implementation that refers to the applicable rules.

Non migrated Certificate Holders with Licences in Pending status in the old RACP

Certificate Holders whose licences were in Pending status as of 10 October 2025 in the old RACP platform — i.e., those who had already clicked “Renew Certification” or were in the middle of the CB licence request process by then— will continue to use the old RACP with full access until their renewal process is complete.

    • Apply the Policy on Phased Implementation that refers to the applicable rules.

The Phased Implementation Policy: what is it, and how to apply it.

To support the transition to Version 1.4, we’re phasing in changes . From October 1st, 2025, the SAS V1.4 and corresponding annexes become binding, but the Certification and Auditing Rules will mostly stay the same until January 30th, 2026. The Policy on Phased Implementation explains what will and won’t change.

Farm Certificate Holders will continue using current RACP as usual, with the new data submission tool in the same place of the previous questionnaire . Certificates remain valid for 3 years, with 1-year licenses.

Supply Chain Certificate Holders will move to 3 verification levels (down from 5), with audits every 2 or 3 years based on risk. From August 1st, these new levels will appear when submitting the Supply Chain Risk Assessment.

Be sure to review the Policy on Phased Implementation if your license and/or certificate expires between October 1st, 2025, and February 1st, 2026 .
