WHAT IS THE RALN?

The Rainforest Alliance Learning Network (RALN) is RA's Learning Management System (LMS). Rainforest Alliance uses the RALN to facilitate learning on the Sustainable Agriculture Standard and many other themes across a wide range of target groups.

WHY DO WE USE IT?

Through the RALN, participants of face-to-face and online training, as well as E-courses, can enroll on different course pages, track their learning progress, improve their competencies, and submit feedback.

For trainers the RALN offers a powerful digital toolkit to help keep a participant list, distribute training materials, store instructions for assignments and a way to collect them, and provides a managed way to grant certificates to participants after completing training. The RALN also includes effective ways to harvest feedback from participants enabling a continuous improvement system to operate both from the trainer and the course design perspective. Finally, the RALN includes semi-automated systems for reporting on training, helping trainers and managers keep track of the results and impact of their efforts.

For learning designers, the RALN offers a way to create designs for training packages that can be easily and repeatedly used to serve multiple training instances on various topics. Together with the Knowledge Sharing team, catalogs for different training offerings can be set up so trainers can make use of and adapt these pre-existing designs to fit the needs of their participants.

Our LMS of choice is based on the widely-used Moodle platform, which is the world's most widely used LMS used by thousands of organizations, institutions and organizations and by millions of learners worldwide. Moodle is highly customizable and Rainforest Alliance continuously adapts it to fit its own needs and ensure it is effectively integrated with our other IT platforms.

You can browse through a wider offering via the tab All courses on the top of your screen. Please note that most trainings in RALN are not open to all participants, but are "targeted" and available upon invitation only. Should you want to inquire about access to any targeted training, please contact the trainer directly when possible.
  • Are you already enrolled into some courses or training? Right after logging in, you can view the trainings and e-courses you have recently accessed on your is the landing page after logging in.
