Building on decades of experience, the standard adds depth in three nature-focused impact areas: soil health and fertility, biodiversity and climate resilience. At the same time, it retains strong social requirements. By protecting human rights and supporting decent livelihoods, environmental stewardship is strengthened, as farmers and workers who are safe and healthy are better able to care for the environment.

The Regenerative Agriculture Standard in standalone format includes new regenerative agriculture requirements, base requirements shared with the Sustainable Agriculture Standard and some other shared sustainable agriculture requirements in key topics. Together, these requirements deliver measurable results across four key areas: crop resilience, soil health, biodiversity and water management.

The add-on format includes the new regenerative agriculture requirements to be implemented on top of the Sustainable Agriculture Standard Requirements.
